No Longer an Adult

I am hereby officially tendering
my resignation as an adult. I have
decided I would like to accept the
responsibilities of an 8 year-old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think
that it's a four star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud
puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.

I want to think M&Ms are better than
money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and
run a lemonade stand with my friends on
a hot summer's day.

I want to return to a time when life was
simple; When all you knew were colors,
multiplication tables, and nursery
rhymes, but that didn't bother you,
because you didn't know what you
didn't know and you didn't care.

All you knew was to be happy because
you were blissfully unaware of
all the things that should make you
worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair.
That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is
possible. I want to be oblivious
to the complexities of life and be
overly excited by the little things
again.

I want to live simple again. I
don't want my day to consist of
computer crashes, mountains of paperwork,
depressing news, how to survive more days
in the month than there is money in the
bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness,
and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of
smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth,
justice, peace, dreams, the imagination,
mankind, and making angels in the snow.

So . . . here's my checkbook
and my car-keys, my credit card bills
and my 401K statements. I am officially
resigning from adulthood.

And if you want to discuss this
further, you'll have to catch me
first, cause........
......"Tag! You're it."

Yup. This is my new graphics card, the Nvedia Inno3D GeForce NX6200 256 DDR-2 AGPX 64bit DVI/TV graphics card. sigh. I know its not exactly exceptionally powerful, but till I get a Pentium DCP II [Dual Core Processor II], I won't be able to get anything more powerful then this. bleah~ at least MY $130 allows me to photoshop without causing inspid jerky movements. - Posted by Picasa

FUCKING PISSED.

FUCKING HELL.

I'm damm pissed.

P I S S E D.

I spent my ENTIRE second project payment on a graphic card (because the old one's burnt out).

no. That is not why I'm pissed off. In fact, I'm quite pleased that I'm able to pay for something WITHOUT using those motherfucking stingy parent's money.

senario :

dad comes back home - *SLAMS* door. stares at us like we're some bloody criminals.

Andrew : (gives usual couldnt be bothered) Hi!

Victor : (acts plastic) How was Japanese class?

Nicholas : (in the room, nobody can see him - types on the DoTA screen) "..."

shortly after that, mum comes back home. she clears the table of papers and letters, and STUMBLE (re: STUMBLE), upon my receipt for the graphics card which costs $125.

Mum : what is this thing? hu...n..dred a..nd twee..nty.. five. Wah. $125 dollars ah. And this thing, net... oh. its net payment.

Andrew : Oh. I went to Sim Lim Square today to repair the computer. The graphics card is spoilt, so I have to go repair it.

Mum : Oh. But how come got extra $30 one?

Andrew : Service mah. This kind of thing they confirm will charge one.
(note - this is what i said EXACTLY)

Dad : (in a I want to bash you up voice) You not happy is it? How dare you talk to us like that?

Andrew : (knowing that his father just wants to find trouble) Is there something wrong with what I said? I only answered what mum asked what.

Dad : (in a I want to kill you voice) You want to fight is it? How dare you speak to me like that?

Andrew : (knowing that he could kill his father in seconds no matter) HUH??

Dad : (ditto) You talk as though it is WE who spoilt your computer like that.

Andrew : (ditto) I NEVER said that, nor did I even imply that

Dad : (ditto) You think we will pay for everything you do?

Andrew : (fuming) NO. In fact, you don't. [making it clear that its mum who gives me the pocket money, not him]. This whole repair thing was paid using my own pay!

Dad : (gives the I am right no matter what face) So everything is you pay one lah!

Andrew : (enraged because he couldnt possibly be paying for everything) *glares*

Dad : *glares* stare what stare? want to fight ah?

Andrew : (tells himself that stupid imbeciles should not be the cause of the contortation of his own facial features)

PISSED.

I am fucking pissed.

People who read this may think that phrases like "want to fight ah" is funny, but from a person who is dead serious about giving you a punch that can knock out you teeth, its NOT funny.

(anybody who knows my family since young, knows that my father's dictatorship is not something laughable - he punishes at the slightest thing, such that his gaze can freeze our blood.)

I can win him hands down if he dares to lays a finger on me, but I'd only succeed in going to jail for manslaughter.

stupid move.

I can't belive how individuals like him ever make it in society.

Parents = Role Models? pffft. puui.

With these kinda role models roaming around in society, its no wonder teenage delinquency is consistantly on the rise - of course, these idiots treat their parents as role models, so naturally, they become like their gangster-like parents.

You think I'm joking?

hm. even if my brothers refuse to testify the truth, there is still Gina who was over the phone and heard the side of my father that no outsider has EVER seen before.

bah. boo. zimm. zamm.

=/

Anybody wanna learn piano from me? (squeaks softly)

sigh... quite alot of ppl have messaged me with interest in learning, but none has followed up yet...

guess I'm not fated to be a piano teacher...

now in SP main library doing my form for the Singapore Press Holdings employment interview later...
its so wierd huh. I've barely had a few lessons of professional preperation and now I'm off to see my nemesis...

=/

But, from what I can see, STOMP seems like quite a nice place to be working in... ESPECIALLY with the fact that there isn't much corporate stuff inside.

I'd die if I have to work in a place where I write business letters, reports and blah.

*oh. I just realized that this I havn't blogged in awhile... been really REALLY busy... 4 days! jeez.*

okie. lets see what I've got to complete this week.

- interview with SPH
- get my measurements done properly for my army uniform [yaay!]
- complete the marketing proposal for Alex
- complete the survey for the project
- QUIT gymming (warning andrew). - thus, I shall replace the time spent in the gym, in the pool!
[p.s. for those that know why I can't go gymming - shush. I don't like it already]

- send my motherboard for repair at SL. + get new graphic card + fix the hard disk corruption thingie.
- prepare for the annual AJ chalet this friday
- take over the world. (as usual).

yup, my week is kind to me.

hmmm... the reason why I'm blogging in school is because I can't contact my lecturers to help me in some parts of the employment form... [i.e. what is my expected pay; of course I'll write 1,000,000 if I could, but then.. that is definately not industry standard].

so I'm mooring around in the PC zone waiting for Dominic to finish his lecture so I can hang out with him before I go meet my maker at Tanah Merah (ref: SPH).

oh yah. I went clubbing with Dominic yesterday.
You can go see Dominic's blog once he's updated. Apparantly, we (or he) saw many famous people in the theatratical industy.

* Ivan Heng
* Selena Tan (oei. dont laugh. I REALLY saw her.)
* Pamela Ooi
* Sebastian Tan
* Ashley ??
* Margaret (from PCK)

... and many more...

it was actually a big event.

and Dominic persuaded me to get the one-for-one TEQUILLA SHOT deal.

everybody who has gone clubbing with me knows how weak my alchohol treshold is - so ta-da!
You have a crazy Andrew dancing with a semi-amused Dominic on the dance floor.

hmm... I've always wondered why they give shots with that salt around the edges. It makes the drink taste like seawater gone wrong.

anywayz, thanks to that shot, I danced myself out of energy even before the good remixes came on, and was totally shagged out by 1:30 am.

wtf. 1:30 am. who leaves clubs at 1:30?

bleah. Had to zone out at my house. Haha. Dominic crashed my house... Lol. I think my parents were quite shocked.

I shall confer their misery upon them tonight.

boo. I miss dominic... =)

yaay. He's finish lecture already!
